Plane Crash in Ronkonkoma, Long Island Claims Two Lives
RONKONKOMA, N.Y. – A tragic plane crash occurred shortly after takeoff on Long Island, resulting in the deaths of both individuals on board.
The single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 departed from MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma around 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The pilot attempted to return to the runway before the aircraft went down, according to local authorities.
Emergency responders reported that both the pilot and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. They were the sole occupants of the aircraft.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
