President Donald Trump took decisive action on Thursday by signing an executive order targeting the closure of the Department of Education. This move aligns with the long-standing aspirations of the US conservative movement, which advocates for minimizing federal involvement in state-run educational systems.
“We’re gonna shut it down and shut it down as quickly as possible. It’s doing us no good. We want to return our students to the states,” Trump declared during a signing ceremony at the White House, flanked by Republican lawmakers and a group of schoolchildren.
