ECNETNews reports that Sony Group and Astar Network have announced a groundbreaking campaign featuring a reward pool of 100 million ASTR tokens aimed at promoting adoption and growth within the Soneium ecosystem.
The initiative, known as the Astar Contribution Score campaign, will utilize Astar Network’s Ethereum layer 2 mainnet, Soneium. It rewards participants for engaging and providing liquidity within the Soneium DeFi landscape.
This ACS campaign is set to run for 100 days, from February 20 to May 30, 2025, encouraging users to earn points by interacting with applications, supplying liquidity to DeFi platforms, and participating in various web3 activities.
Participants can convert their earned points into ASTR tokens, with 1 billion ACS points available throughout the campaign. Each ACS point is worth 0.1 ASTR, and users can claim their rewards post-campaign through the ACS website.
To support this initiative, Astar has allocated a substantial reward pool of 100 million ASTR, focusing on fostering adoption and sustainable economic growth for projects within the Soneium ecosystem. Up to 40 Soneium projects will participate, including notable names in the industry.
Moreover, users can earn point multipliers by utilizing ASTR, ETH, USDC, or USDT within the Sony layer 2 ecosystem. ASTR tokens will receive a 2x multiplier, USDC a 1.2x multiplier, and USDT a standard 1x multiplier. Detailed information on asset multipliers will be shared on Astar’s channels.
Sota Watanabe, a key figure at Astar Network, emphasized that the ACS incentive mechanism is specifically tailored to reward those actively contributing to the growth of the Soneium ecosystem. “This campaign is for users who engage meaningfully, support liquidity in DeFi, and interact with web3 applications,” Watanabe stated.
The campaign is strategically designed to attract new participants to the Soneium blockchain ecosystem, increasing ASTR holdings through impactful incentives that transform on-chain actions into tangible rewards.
Maarten Henskens, a leading voice at Astar Foundation, expressed enthusiasm for the campaign’s potential to bolster ASTR’s adoption while nurturing a more engaged web3 community. “By promoting significant involvement, we aim to deliver long-term value to users, developers, and the wider ecosystem,” he added.
Furthermore, this expansion positions ASTR for future compatibility with additional layer 2 networks, such as Base and OP Mainnet, as it is set to be deployed as SuperchainERC20.
