Georgina Nicholls’ Oscars Moonshine returns to action after an impressive run, having won both of his outings last October. With a solid fitness level, he poses a significant challenge under the guidance of Olive Nicholls.
Inca De Lafayette boasts an impressive hurdle record with three wins from nine starts. He finished as a runner-up off a 1lb lower mark at Taunton in February, making him a formidable competitor.
Ben Pauling’s Whatsupwithyou comes off a close second-place finish at Cheltenham in April, and a similar performance could place him in contention as he races under Ben Jones.
2:08 PM Southwell – Next Left and Presenting Pete Gear Up for Competitive Opener
The opening race features Dan Skelton’s Next Left, a dual winner over fences who aims to bounce back after a recent runner-up position at this track. The drop in distance may work to his advantage.
Presenting Pete, trained by John Mackie, had an encouraging chasing debut with a second-place finish at Sedgefield earlier this month, making him a noteworthy contender with Brian Hughes at the helm.
Roger Pol showed promise during bumpers but faced challenges over hurdles. His trainer is now implementing a wind operation in hopes of improvement.
