Exciting novice Juby Ball headlines today’s racing events at Chepstow, with all seven races available for viewers to enjoy…
1.20 Chepstow – Thrilling Novice Juby Ball Returns
Trainer Evan Williams presents several promising contenders, with Juby Ball expected to make a strong impression in the Let’s Bet Personal With Fitzdares Novices’ Hurdle. After winning one of his two bumper starts, he delivered an impressive performance to secure victory in a competitive maiden hurdle at Ffos Las. Juby Ball aims to continue his success despite facing a penalty as he climbs in grade.
Ben Solo, another runner facing penalties, achieved victory over course and distance on his hurdling debut in October. While he will need to improve from his recent performances, the drop back to two miles could work in his favor.
Among the remaining contenders, Mini Fortune shows potential with experience in point-to-points and is an intriguing debutant for Thomas Faulkner.
2.20 Chepstow – Jalisco Star Aims for Victory
Jalisco Star, trained by Laura Haskell, has shown marked improvement following wind surgery last year. After narrowly missing out on a hat-trick at Warwick last month, he emerges as the favorite in the Call Fitzdares Mares’ Handicap Hurdle. Stepping up to Class Three for the first time, a 3lb increase in the weights may not hinder his chances.
The Lord Maid leads the weights for Tom Lacey and Cameron Iles. After a disappointing run at Doncaster, he drops in class but had previously finished second at Warwick in November, showcasing his ability.
Love Of Neymore and Phillipa Sue round out the shortlist of contenders.
2.50 Chepstow – Donnacha and Hurricane Highway Battle in Key Contest
Trained by Nigel Hawke, Donnacha recently achieved his first victory at Exeter on his third attempt over fences, making him a strong contender from his increased mark.
Hurricane Highway, still seeking his first win over larger obstacles, secured a promising second place behind Karuma Grey at Ffos Las in December, deserving respect at the same mark.
Other notable competitors include The Famous Five from Venetia Williams’ stable, who triumphed at Newbury in December but faced disappointment at Haydock. A rebound performance under Charlie Deutsch would not be surprising.
