President Bola Tinubu Arrives in Enugu for Official Visit
President Bola Tinubu has landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu for a highly-anticipated official visit to the state. The Nigerian leader’s aircraft, a Nigeria Air Force Airbus A330, touched down around 1:22 PM.
Welcoming the President were notable dignitaries, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Abia Governor Alex Otti, Anambra Deputy Governor, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, and oil magnate Arthur Ezeh.
According to statements from the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, President Tinubu is set to commission several key projects during his visit. These include the Enugu International Conference Center, a flagship initiative established by the Mbah administration.
The President will also unveil 30 completed Enugu Smart Green Schools, part of a larger initiative involving 260 schools under construction across the state. Additionally, he will commission 60 completed Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, with more facilities in progress.
Further initiatives slated for inauguration include a multi-auditorium Enugu International Conference Centre, 90 urban roads completed in Enugu City, and a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, equipped with 150 patrol vehicles featuring AI-embedded surveillance technology. The President will also inaugurate completed rural roads during his one-day visit.
