One of the standout but often overlooked features of iOS 18 is the revamped Apple Wallet, particularly when it comes to event ticketing.
In a significant development, Ticketmaster has emerged as the first company to leverage Apple Wallet’s enhanced ticketing capabilities.

“With the new, enhanced ticketing experience in Apple Wallet, fans are even closer to the action once they add their pass to their iPhone,” said a representative from Ticketmaster. “We’re excited to collaborate with Apple to offer this improved experience to fans.”
Ticketmaster’s early adoption of the new feature is not surprising, given its significant role in the live events sector. This announcement signals a swift embrace of the upgraded Apple Wallet ticketing feature within the industry, which launched just weeks ago with iOS 18. More live event and ticketing companies are expected to follow suit shortly.
Updates to Apple Wallet Tickets
For those new to adding tickets to Apple Wallet, here’s how it works:
When purchasing an event ticket, users will be given the option to add it to Apple Wallet. By selecting this option, the ticket is easily accessible within the Wallet app, allowing users to display the barcode for scanning at the venue.
The upgrade in iOS 18 significantly enhances functionality within Apple Wallet. Previously, tickets offered only basic information like event start times. Now, with the new updates, users can expect a wealth of features including venue maps, parking information, local weather updates, links to merchandise, and curated Apple Music playlists.
Furthermore, tickets will feature custom designs unique to each event, and users can share their location with friends attending the same event, facilitating meet-ups.
Venues and sports franchises can also enrich the Apple Wallet ticket experience by integrating their own apps or websites.
As reported, the new Apple Wallet ticketing feature will make its debut with Major League Soccer (MLS) on October 19 during the Los Angeles Football Club’s (LAFC) home game at BMO Stadium. Subsequently, this feature will be available for Miami HEAT games and is anticipated to roll out across more events throughout the coming year.
