In a highly anticipated announcement, The Pogues will be hitting the road for their first North American tour in 14 years. The surviving members—James Fearnley, Jem Finer, and Spider Stacy—are set to showcase a series of U.S. and Canadian performances as part of the 40th anniversary celebration for their iconic album, Rum Sodomy & the Lash. Fans can expect to hear classic tracks from the 1985 album alongside a selection of beloved favorites, with special guests enhancing the experience.
The tour will kick off with a previously announced UK leg starting May 1 at the O2 Academy Leeds, before transitioning to North America with shows scheduled between September 5 and 17 in cities including Washington, D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Montreal, and New York. This follows their tribute to the 1994 album Red Roses for Me during performances last year, marking the band’s first appearances since the passing of frontman Shane MacGowan in 2023.
In an official statement, the band conveyed their excitement: “To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of our second LP, Rum Sodomy & the Lash, we are thrilled to gather an exceptional lineup of musicians, including members from bands that followed in our footsteps. This will be a revival of the music that holds such importance to us all. We look forward to raising a glass with our fans and making unforgettable memories together.”
