D23 recently concluded without announcements for a new Star Wars attraction at Disney parks. However, exciting updates are on the horizon for an existing ride. The Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is set to feature the iconic characters of The Mandalorian and Grogu in a new mission.
At the Disney Experiences panel, a Lucasfilm executive announced that the Unreal Engine technology, which was pivotal in creating the visual effects for The Mandalorian, will be utilized to integrate Din Djarin and Grogu into the ride experience.
“The intersection of storytelling and innovation has always been central to Lucasfilm, and we’re excited to see where this collaboration will take us next,” the executive stated. “Imagine flying alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling, and dangerous, missions.”
This new mission—or potentially multiple missions—will launch for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run in 2026, coinciding with the anticipated release of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie on May 22, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting development unfolds at the Disney parks.
