Tesla has issued a recall for nearly 700,000 vehicles this week due to a malfunction with the tire pressure warning light. This issue could lead to drivers operating their vehicles on low-pressure tires without being aware of it.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated, “The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure.”
The recall impacts specific models, including the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3s, and 2020-2025 Model Ys. Fortunately for Tesla owners, the company has released a free over-the-air software update to address the concern. Affected owners will receive notification letters starting February 15.
