Telegram’s Founder Under Investigation for Organized Crime
Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, is currently facing a formal investigation led by French prosecutors regarding allegations of organized crime connected to the messaging platform. The 39-year-old entrepreneur has not been placed in custody but is under judicial supervision.
As part of the investigation, Durov is required to pay a deposit of €5 million. Additionally, he must report to a French police station twice a week and is prohibited from leaving the country. Durov was initially detained upon his arrival at Le Bourget Airport, located north of Paris, last Saturday, following a warrant related to the app’s operations.
