The Global Telangana Association (GTA) hosted a lively Bathukamma and Dasara celebration at ‘The Studio’ in Farmington Hills, Michigan, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, attracting over 600 Telugu families.
Participants donned traditional and colorful attire to pay homage to Goddess Gowri, embodying the spirit of Bathukamma. Women joyfully danced around intricately arranged flower mounds, capturing the festive essence of Telangana.
“GTA’s Bathukamma celebration rekindled our childhood memories in Telangana,” remarked an attendee. Another participant emphasized that the event provided a wonderful opportunity for children to reconnect with their cultural heritage.
Authentic Telangana delicacies delighted the crowds gathered at the venue, enhancing the festive spirit.
Esteemed leaders from various Indian communities attended the event, symbolizing unity among the diaspora. The celebration featured energetic dandiya performances, allowing families to dance merrily to popular Telangana music.
The organizing committee, led by GTA national president Praveen Kesireddy and the Detroit City Chapter team, including its president Kamal Pinnamreddy and president-elect Venkat Vadnala, played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success.
