A teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jehanabad, Bihar, has been suspended following the viral circulation of videos in which she made disparaging comments about Bihar and its residents.
The teacher, Dipali Sah, openly criticized her placement, using inappropriate language to express her disdain for the state and its people. In one clip, she lamented her job location, stating, “There are so many branches of Kendriya Vidyalaya across India. They could have posted me in any other region.” She further conveyed her frustration, questioning, “What enmity did they have with me that they posted me in the worst region?”
In another video, Sah harshly criticized the conditions in Bihar, declaring, “The situation of Bihar is actually dire. The ground reality is that people have no civic sense.” She expressed her dismay at the perception of Bihar, suggesting that the state’s issues hinder India’s development potential.
The backlash was swift. Bihar MP Shambhavi Choudhary formally requested action from the Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, emphasizing that Sah’s remarks were unacceptable for someone in an educational role. Choudhary underscored the need for strict adherence to professionalism within educational institutions.
Responding to the widespread outrage, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan initiated disciplinary measures and suspended Sah. Although she has defended her statements as personal opinions, she declined to provide further comments when approached.
This incident has reignited discussions about the responsibilities of educators and the importance of maintaining respect and inclusivity within academic environments.
