The Jalingo Local Government Council in Taraba State has announced a budget of ₦4.8 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, emphasizing sustainable growth and development across vital sectors.
At the council chamber presentation, the Executive Chairman highlighted the proposal as a “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Development,” which aligns with the state’s Moving Forward Agenda.
Pointing to the occasion as a significant milestone, the Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to the legislative council and residents for their contributions to the progress achieved in 2024.
The 2025 budget is focused on enhancing critical sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
The budget breakdown includes a revenue projection of ₦3.321 billion from federal allocations and internally generated revenue, with an additional ₦1.47 billion expected from Value Added Tax (VAT).
Key allocations in the budget comprise ₦1.69 billion for Personnel Costs, accounting for 35%, ₦967.4 million for Overhead Costs at 20%, and ₦1.45 billion designated for capital expenditure, representing 30%. Moreover, a reserve stabilisation fund is projected at ₦716.5 million, while Loan/Debt Servicing is set at ₦8.3 million, representing 10% and 5% respectively.
The Executive Chairman emphasized the budget’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective governance, ensuring that every naira is wisely used to bring about real benefits for the community.
He urged council members to rigorously review the budget and work collaboratively with the executive arm for successful implementation, underlining their crucial role in translating the figures into impactful projects and policies.
Reaffirming his commitment to Jalingo’s development, the Executive Chairman expressed optimism for significant achievements in 2025, encouraging collective efforts to enhance community welfare and secure a promising future for upcoming generations.
