Excitement continues to build for the upcoming DC reboot as David Corenswet, the new Superman, recently unveiled an exclusive trailer at CinemaCon 2025. The highly anticipated film, part of Warner Bros.’ lineup, promises to deliver a fresh take on the iconic superhero, with a theatrical release set for July 11, 2025. The presentation featured a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel and a never-before-seen clip, marking what director James Gunn terms the “summer of Superman.”
Superman Trailer Unveils the Fortress of Solitude
The trailer opens with an impressive scene of Superman crash-landing in the Arctic, seemingly injured, and whistling for his loyal companion, Krypto. In a snowy flurry, Krypto playfully tackles Superman, who then requests, “Take me home,” extending his cape. As Krypto drags him across the icy landscape, a stunning crystal structure arises, unveiling the Fortress of Solitude adorned with glowing doors featuring Superman’s iconic logo.
Inside the fortress, automatons assist Superman into a healing chamber. In a moment of gratitude, he attempts to thank the automatons, only for them to clarify their lack of sentience. The clip transitions into the main trailer, culminating in a heartfelt scene where Superman nearly departs the fortress without Krypto. When he hears Krypto whimpering, Superman allows his canine friend to join him, leading to a playful moment as Krypto bites at Superman’s shoes.
Directed and written by James Gunn, the film is an adaptation of the beloved character created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Produced by Gunn and Peter Safran, the film features a stellar cast with David Corenswet as Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, and Skyler Gisondo. While the trailer was exclusively revealed to attendees at CinemaCon, a public release date has yet to be announced.
CinemaCon 2025, held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, serves as a platform for studios to showcase their major upcoming releases to theater owners and industry professionals, with Warner Bros. presenting a lineup of exciting projects.
