Sturgill Simpson is set to hold a special concert in support of Hurricane Helene relief efforts in North Carolina. The event will take place at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on October 21, just one day before his previously scheduled performance at the same venue. All proceeds from this additional show will go directly to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund.
Originally, Simpson was due to perform at Asheville’s ExploreAsheville.com Arena on October 21; however, that concert has been canceled due to hurricane-related damage. In a similar vein, local artist MJ Lenderman has also been forced to cancel multiple tour dates due to the extensive devastation in his area, while sharing ways for fans to support the affected community. Fortunately, the majority of his tour remains unaffected.
Simpson is currently on tour promoting his latest album, Passage du Desir, under the name Johnny Blue Skies.
