Radio telescopes tasked with observing the universe are increasingly confronted with the challenges posed by electromagnetic interference from thousands of satellites orbiting in low Earth space. Recent experiments have demonstrated a method to significantly reduce one category of this interference, particularly involving satellite communication systems.
These satellites continuously transmit downlink signals to Earth to facilitate internet and communication services. Unfortunately, as they traverse the sky, their robust signals can disrupt the sensitive observations conducted by radio telescopes, leading to potential interruptions in critical data collection.
