Mr. Taofeeq Sokunbi has officially assumed the role of the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State. This significant announcement was made by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, in a statement released on Thursday in Osogbo.
Sokunbi succeeds Mr. Inyang Umoh, who has been transferred to Rivers State. A veteran in the field, Sokunbi joined the FRSC in 1996 and has held various positions nationwide, including assignments in Ogoja and Jigawa Commands.
In her message, Ogungbemi encouraged FRSC personnel in the state to support the new sector commander in achieving the agency’s objectives. The statement also noted Sokunbi’s prior role at the Staff Zonal Data Centre, where he served in Lokoja and Ilorin before his recent posting to the ABA Information Processing Centre (IPC).
Born on July 22, 1970, in Ebute Metta, Lagos State, Sokunbi is a proud native of Abeokuta South Local Government area in Ogun State. He attended Shiloh Primary School and later Vetland Grammar School in Agege, Lagos State. Ogungbemi highlighted that Sokunbi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Joseph Ayo-Babalola University, located in Ilesa, Osun State.
