BOSTON — A small airplane successfully landed at Logan International Airport in Boston on Tuesday afternoon despite experiencing a malfunction with its landing gear.
The Cape Air Cessna 402, carrying two passengers and one crew member, had taken off from Logan before returning due to a landing gear issue, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the airport authority.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Footage captured the dramatic landing with the plane coming in with only one wheel deployed, and one wing making contact with the ground.
The aircraft was en route to Bar Harbor, Maine, when the pilot reported an anomaly with the landing gear shortly after takeoff. In response, the pilot followed standard emergency procedures and safely returned to Boston Logan Airport.
The successful landing occurred around 3:20 p.m., showcasing the pilot’s professionalism in handling the emergency situation.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the underlying cause of the landing gear malfunction.
