CrowdStrike, a leading cybersecurity firm, has announced that “a significant number” of devices affected by a global IT outage last Friday are now back online after a turbulent incident that disrupted operations worldwide.
In a recent social media update, CrowdStrike acknowledged that a problematic security update was responsible for a massive crash of Microsoft Windows computers, leading to widespread operational challenges. The company emphasized its commitment to restoring all systems promptly.
Microsoft estimates this unprecedented outage, labeled as one of the most severe in history, impacted approximately 8.5 million computers globally.
Organizations across various sectors, including businesses, banks, hospitals, and airlines, experienced significant disruptions, with some still facing challenges in fully restoring their systems.
