The 2024 Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation event is set to take place on December 29, 2024, marking its 11th edition. This highly anticipated gathering will be hosted at the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, expecting around 160 participants, accompanied by approximately 30 coaches.
The event will feature a football skill challenge between teams, alongside an exciting match scheduled between the Lagos U-13 team and the Ajegunle United U-13 team. Young athletes from the U-13 and U-16 categories will have the opportunity to showcase their talents through indirect kicks, penalty kicks, and various other skills.
Dotun Coker, the chairman of the Organising Committee, shared that the U-13 Boys category will see 80 players and 16 officials competing, while the U-15 Girls category will host 40 players and 8 officials. The highlight of the day will be the U-13 match pitting Team Lagos against U-13 Alex Football Academy from Enugu, involving 40 players and 6 officials.
Coker also mentioned, “Some beneficiaries will go home with scholarships from the event, and we anticipate a beautiful display of football from the young talents representing Lagos and Enugu.” Additionally, the organizing team will ensure that all participating children are provided with meals.
Attendees can expect various side attractions, enhancing the overall experience for participants and spectators alike at the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle.
