Severe Flooding Impacts Northern and Northeastern Provinces

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Authority has announced that flooding is currently affecting 23 provinces across the country, predominantly in the North and Northeast regions. Over 66,000 families are impacted in 1,647 villages.
In the North, flood conditions are reported to be fluctuating across nine provinces: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, and Tak are experiencing declining water levels, whereas Lamphun and Phitsanulok are witnessing rising floodwaters.
The Northeast is also inundated, with flooding affecting Buri Ram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, and Udon Thani provinces, with conditions ranging from stable to declining.
In the Central Plains, five provinces, including Ang Thong and Ayutthaya, are reporting rising water levels, while Nakhon Pathom, Suphan Buri, and Sing Buri remain stable.
The southern provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla are also dealing with declining flood situations.
Tragically, from August 16 to October 7, flooding has resulted in the loss of 52 lives and injured 28 individuals across 44 provinces.
