At least seven people lost their lives in a tragic plane crash on Sunday in a dense forest region of Jalisco, western Mexico, according to local authorities.
The light aircraft, identified as a Cessna 207, was en route from La Parota in the neighboring state of Michoacán when the incident occurred.
Jalisco Civil Protection reported that the crash site is in a remote area, making it difficult for rescue teams to access.
Initial reports indicated the remains of seven individuals were found at the scene, although their identities have not yet been confirmed.
Fire at the crash site was extinguished, and risk mitigation measures were implemented to prevent further hazards, the agency stated.
Authorities are currently awaiting the arrival of forensic investigators to recover the bodies and confirm whether there are any additional casualties.
