WWE Superstar Seth Rollins has recently spoken out about the potential for a reunion with his former Shield teammates, Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley. The Shield, which made a significant impact since its debut at WWE Survivor Series 2012, quickly became one of the most formidable factions in wrestling history.
From 2012 to 2014, The Shield dominated the WWE landscape, with all three members achieving main-event status. However, their alliance faced a shocking split in 2014 when Rollins betrayed Reigns, delivering a memorable steel chair attack that remains one of WWE’s iconic moments.
A decade later, the storyline was revisited at WrestleMania 40, where Reigns turned the tables, striking Rollins with a chair, underscoring the long-lasting impact of their initial betrayal.
Following their split, all three superstars rose to prominence as individual competitors, each earning Grand Slam Champion honors. The Shield saw several reunions between 2017 and 2019, but ultimately, former member Dean Ambrose made headlines by departing WWE for AEW, rebranding himself as Jon Moxley. Despite Moxley’s current tenure in AEW, fans are still hopeful for a Shield reunion.
Currently, Moxley is the AEW World Heavyweight Champion and recently defended his title, showcasing his continued success in that company. Meanwhile, Rollins has addressed speculation surrounding a possible Shield reunion.
Seth Rollins on The Shield Reunion: ‘One of our guys is over in the other company’
In a recent interview, Rollins reflected on his notorious heel turn and the possibility of reuniting at WrestleMania 41. While acknowledging the interest, he noted that Moxley’s presence in AEW makes such a reunion unlikely.
Rollins stated, “I mean, look, one of our guys [Jon Moxley] is over in the other company [AEW], so he ain’t coming. Roman Reigns and I are here [WWE] for life. Our paths are going to be intertwined; we’re going to crisscross here and there until both of us are done and retired. So you never know. You never know what WrestleMania is going to look like. You never know what next month is going to look like could be anytime.”
While fans are eager for a Shield reunion, the reality remains that with Jon Moxley in AEW and the ongoing feud between Rollins and Reigns, the likelihood of coming together anytime soon appears slim.
