Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing legal action from a woman who asserts that he and an associate assaulted her in 2001. The plaintiff, Thalia Graves, has filed her lawsuit in a federal court in New York.
The lawsuit reveals that Graves encountered Diddy around late 1999 or early 2000 through her then-boyfriend, who worked as an executive at Bad Boy Records. She alleges that during the summer of 2001, Diddy contacted her to discuss her boyfriend’s alleged performance issues at the record label. Following this, she agreed to meet with him, and Diddy, along with Joseph “Big Joe” Sherman, his bodyguard, picked her up in an SUV.
During the ride, Graves claims Diddy offered her a glass of wine, after which she began to feel lightheaded and weak. The complaint states that it became apparent that Diddy had tampered with her drink, as she had never experienced such symptoms from a few sips of wine.
Upon arriving at Diddy’s New York recording studio, Graves reports that she lost consciousness in Diddy’s personal lounge. When she regained consciousness, she was allegedly naked with her hands bound. She claims to have called for help, but Sherman allegedly reacted by slamming her face down on a nearby pool table.
The lawsuit then details that Combs entered the room and allegedly assaulted her. Graves asserts that she screamed for help throughout the ordeal before losing consciousness once more. Regaining consciousness later, she reportedly saw Sherman inappropriately near her and claims he assaulted her as well.
After the incident, Graves managed to dress and escaped the studio, seeking a ride from a livery driver. The driver urged her to seek medical attention and report the assault; however, she was too distraught to exit the vehicle due to fear of potential repercussions from Combs and concerns for her family’s safety.
