Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Sam Smith join forces to release a fresh interpretation of “Ever New,” a song from the iconic Keyboard Fantasies. This new version features on the upcoming Transa compilation, produced by the talented Rob Moose.
Glenn-Copeland, who penned the original track back in 1986, expressed his deep emotional connection to the song, reflecting on its lasting impact. “When I wrote ‘Ever New,’ I had no idea it would touch so many hearts over so many decades,” he shared. “I was moved when a fan told me they played it for the birth of their child. This collaboration with Sam Smith shows that our lives truly can be made ever new.”
Sam Smith echoed Glenn-Copeland’s sentiments, calling it a “true honor” to work with such an inspiring artist on a song that holds significant meaning. “It’s a moment I will never forget and I am so happy to have been part of this wonderful project,” Smith stated.
The Transa compilation is set to be released on November 22 and boasts contributions from a diverse array of artists, including Lauren Auder, Cole Pulice, Sade, André 3000 from Outkast, and Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes.
In recent news, Beverly Glenn-Copeland revealed in a heartfelt video that he is living with dementia. Following the release of his album The Ones Ahead last year, he has announced that he will perform his final concert on October 5. This poignant moment underscores the importance of celebrating artistic legacies and the continued relevance of music through the years.
