In a recent interview, Reynolds discussed the potential of ending his character’s journey in Deadpool & Wolverine. “There’s always the thought of killing Deadpool in the last one,” he stated. “We spent considerable time reworking that third act to find the best solution.”
Reynolds elaborated on the creative process, noting how crucial collaboration was in shaping the film. He mentioned the integration of various musical elements to enhance the storytelling. Reynolds also acknowledged the healing powers of Deadpool, hinting at a scenario where Wade Wilson could have been deatomized, but ultimately, Marvel preferred to keep the character alive.
“Studios see the value in keeping this character for future projects; he’s a cheat code,” Reynolds commented, emphasizing Deadpool’s unique ability to resonate with audiences. He expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to portray the character, stating he loves playing him.
Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine is now available for streaming. Although there is no confirmation on Reynolds’ next MCU appearance or his involvement in the upcoming 2026 release, there are reports of early development on an X-Men-related project.
