ECNETNews reports that a significant transformation of Smartsheet’s platform was announced during its annual ENGAGE customer conference today.
The company introduced a revamped user experience, along with several innovative features aimed at enhancing collaboration and scaling work across organizations.
These enhancements build on the next-generation capabilities launched last year and reaffirm Smartsheet’s commitment to providing intuitive and powerful solutions that cater to users of all technical abilities.
The new features are designed to simplify team collaboration, streamline file organization, and improve data visualization while maintaining the robust security and no-code environment for which Smartsheet is well-known.
“Guided by customer feedback, our updated user experience and brand-new features allow customers to intuitively engage with Smartsheet in the ways that matter most to them,” said a company representative.
Key New Features of Smartsheet
Collections: Securely Group and Share Specific Assets
The newly launched Collections feature enables users to group and selectively share assets within a centralized workspace. This innovative capability empowers project managers to oversee all content related to a campaign in one location while ensuring that users have access only to the information they need. Collections also facilitate the integration of Smartsheet content with external assets while upholding security through customized permissions.
Collections are available to Enterprise customers under the new user subscription model.
File Library: Streamlined File Management for Collaboration
The new File Library enhances collaboration on digital assets such as PDFs, videos, documents, and spreadsheets. Teams can now request reviews, gather feedback, and share comments without the necessity of creating new sheets. This feature is tailored to reduce meeting times and expedite approvals in areas such as creative operations.
The File Library is currently accessible to Early Adopters and will be available to all customers under the new user subscription model by the end of October 2024.
Redesigned User Experience: Accessible, Modern, and Intuitive
Smartsheet has unveiled its most user-friendly design to date, crafted based on customer feedback. The platform’s new design system highlights a modern aesthetic, making navigation and collaboration easier for users at all skill levels. An AI-driven, visually engaging user experience simplifies onboarding and enables users to quickly initiate projects and processes.
Enhanced Data Visualization
Smartsheet has also launched new features to improve user interaction with their work:
- Board View: This feature, modeled after Kanban boards, is designed to enhance flexibility and facilitate progress tracking.
- Table View: The grid interface has undergone a refresh, offering real-time collaboration, faster filtering, custom sorting, and improved search capabilities. It features 10x faster formula calculations and quicker load times, making it the most powerful version of Smartsheet’s table view to date.
Board View is now generally available, while Table View is currently accessible to Early Adopters.
