Following the acclaimed success of Speak No Evil, director Christian Tafdrup is slated to direct the English version of Audition. In addition to directing, Tafdrup is co-writing the screenplay with his brother, Mads Tafdrup. This marks another significant project for Christian Tafdrup, who gained recognition for the 2022 film Speak No Evil, which achieved an impressive Certified Fresh rating. He is also involved in directing the upcoming horror thriller, Let the Evil Go West, featuring stars Sebastian Stan and Lily James.
The production team includes Ashok Amritraj, Priya Amritrajmm, and Mario Kassar, with executive producers being Murakami and others. The project is a collaboration between multiple production entities, including Hyde Park Entertainment and Mario Kassar Productions.
The storyline of the original film follows a widower who orchestrates a deceptive casting audition to find a new bride. His interest is piqued by a young actress aspiring to be a ballet dancer, but he soon uncovers her troubled past, thrusting him into a tumultuous and dangerous relationship.
