The Dog Stars is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2026. The film features an ensemble cast led by Jacob Elordi, known for his role in Euphoria, portraying Hig, a civilian pilot. Joining him are Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce, and Benedict Wong.
Ridley Scott directs the film, with a screenplay crafted by Mark L. Smith and Christopher Wilkinson. The production team includes executive producers Heller, Lily Brooks-Dalton, and Brandon Scott Smith, along with producers Scott, Mark L. Smith, Michael Pruss, and Cliff Roberts. The film is a collaboration between 20th Century Studios and Scott Free.
The original novel’s synopsis reveals that “Hig’s wife is gone, his friends are dead, and he lives in the hangar of a small abandoned airport with his dog, Jasper, and a gun-toting misanthrope named Bangley. When a random transmission breaks through the static of his 1956 Cessna radio, it ignites a flicker of hope for a life beyond their confined existence.
