Rauw Alejandro has officially revealed the release date for his highly anticipated new album, Cosa Nuestra, set to launch on November 15. Along with this announcement, he has released a captivating new single titled “Pasaporte,” featuring renowned Puerto Rican artist Mr. NaisGai.
“Pasaporte” is a collaboration produced by Alejandro, Mr. NaisGai, and SG Lewis. This track follows Alejandro’s recent hits “Déjame Entrar” and “Touching the Sky,” which he performed at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
In a recent interview, Alejandro shared insights into the inspiration behind the album title, which pays homage to the 1969 salsa classic Cosa Nuestra by Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe. He expressed, “Salsa is not my essence, but it’s something that’s in my blood and in my culture, and it’s something I love. I come from urban music, but I can do other genres. The Colón-Lavoe Cosa Nuestra had elegance, musicality, and rich instrumentation, which you will hear on this album. It’s the first time I’m incorporating my band and live music throughout almost an entire project. Usually, I write using my keyboard and computer, but this time I’m going back to my roots.”
Cosa Nuestra marks Rauw Alejandro’s fifth studio album, following the release of his fourth album, Playa Saturno, in July 2023.
