Marco Aurélio Carvalho, coordinator of Prerrogativas, has denied that the legal group is behind a recent manifesto advocating for strategic voting in favor of Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), which was released on Monday (30). This move has particularly upset the campaign of Tabata Amaral (PSB), who stands to be the most affected by this shift.
Carvalho expressed understanding for the rationale behind some individuals’ calls for support for Boulos at this critical juncture to ensure his advancement to the second round of elections. “We respect Tabata’s candidacy. The call for strategic voting originated within her own supporter group. However, given the latest Datafolha data, we understand why people are advocating for a vote in Boulos at this decisive moment,” he stated.
The poll released on Thursday (3) indicated Boulos at 26%, in a technical tie with Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and Pablo Marçal (PRTB), both at 24%. In contrast, Tabata is polling at 11%.
Prerrogativas, composed mainly of left-leaning attorneys, primarily backs Boulos, yet there remains a faction within the group supporting Tabata. “We seek to maintain a positive relationship with Tabata to secure her support in the second round,” Carvalho noted.
