Blaze Entertainment is set to launch its latest budget-friendly handheld gaming devices, the Super Pocket Atari and Technos Editions, on October 22. Priced at $60 each, these devices are now available for preorder. The Atari Edition comes stocked with 50 classic games, while the Technos Edition features 15 games, offering a nostalgic gaming experience for retro enthusiasts.
Both editions are designed as compact handheld systems, with the Atari Edition including iconic titles like Adventure, Asteroids, and Centipede, among others. Meanwhile, the Technos Edition offers popular arcade games such as Double Dragon and River City Ransom.
The Super Pocket series is essentially an affordable alternative to Blaze’s Evercade brand, incorporating functionality for existing Evercade cartridges, which grants users access to over 500 games across 50 cartridges. This extensive library includes both remastered classics and new retro titles.
The handhelds feature a 2.8-inch IPS display, a user-friendly interface, and a lightweight design that makes them easily portable, measuring less than 5 inches tall and under an inch thick. Each device includes four face buttons, a D-pad, and additional buttons serving as triggers and shoulder buttons.
Blaze Entertainment has also been active in releasing various other gaming products this year, including the Evercade VS-R console, which launched in August at a reduced price of $100, and plans to debut the Evercade EXP-R handheld on November 29. Both devices will include the recently released Tomb Raider Collection, a cartridge that features the first three games in the iconic series.
Looking ahead to 2024, Blaze is set to introduce the Evercade Alpha, a countertop arcade machine launching on November 28. The Alpha will be available in two Capcom-themed models: Street Fighter and Mega Man. Early preorders will receive a price reduction, making the unit available for $230 before reverting to $250 at launch.
