Def Jam Recordings has unveiled a heartfelt new album from the late Los Angeles musician August 08. Titled Pretend It’s Okay, this 10-song collection features collaborations with artists Channel Tres, Kiah Victoria, and Mark Lux. Fans can now listen to the album and watch the new music video for the standout track “Egotrip.”
August 08, who tragically passed away last year at the age of 31, leaves behind a legacy with Pretend It’s Okay, marking his first posthumous release and following his previous work, Seasick, from 2022.
In the wake of his passing, Def Jam Recordings expressed, “The entire Def Jam family mourns the tragic loss of Ray ‘August 08’ Jacobs. A brilliant songwriter, an accomplished musician, and a singular artist, August will remain in our memory as a beloved colleague and friend.
