ECNETNews reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has categorically refuted claims regarding the shutdown of the recently revitalized Port Harcourt Refinery, confirming that it remains fully operational.
Contrary to Saturday’s media speculations suggesting that the lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) had ceased since Friday and that the 18-arm loading bay was inactive, NNPC Ltd has clarified the refinery’s operational status.
In a statement, NNPC Ltd emphasized that such claims are unfounded and stem from “the imagination of those seeking to instigate artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.” The company assured the public that preparations for ongoing loading operations are in progress.
The statement noted: “NNPC Ltd has been made aware of assertions in some media outlets claiming that the Port Harcourt Refinery, which was re-streamed two months ago, has halted operations. We firmly establish that these reports are entirely false as the refinery’s functionality was recently verified.”
It further urged the public to disregard these misleading narratives, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining a transparent and efficient operation.
