LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles FC striker Olivier Giroud’s residence was the target of a burglary earlier this month, confirmed police sources.
The 38-year-old French soccer star joined LAFC last year, making a significant impact since signing in May.
On February 5, Los Angeles police responded to a report of a broken window at a home in West LA, where the caller reported their residence had been burglarized.
A spokesperson for LAFC confirmed the incident but declined to provide further comments regarding Giroud or the organization.
Olivier Giroud is celebrated for his illustrious career, including six successful seasons at Arsenal (2012-2018), followed by three years each at Chelsea and AC Milan. Throughout his club career, he has netted 285 goals in 716 appearances and has won numerous trophies, including the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
Additionally, Giroud has been a key player for the French national team, holding the record for 57 international goals and contributing to the team’s 2018 World Cup victory.
As the Major League Soccer season approaches, Giroud and LAFC are gearing up for their season opener against Minnesota United this Saturday at home.
