The Enugu State Police Command has made a significant arrest in connection with the theft of a streetlight pole in the New Artisan area of Enugu. The suspect, identified as Aliyu Saad, was apprehended following a tip-off regarding his criminal activity.
Police operatives from the New Haven Division intercepted Saad on August 8, 2024, at approximately 4:30 AM. He has since been charged in the Enugu North Magistrates’ Court and is currently remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre, Enugu, awaiting further legal proceedings.
In an official statement, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer indicated that Saad was arrested for allegedly uprooting and stealing a streetlight pole, underscoring the prompt response of police operatives to credible intelligence.
