Operatives from the Kaduna State Police Command have recently thwarted a human trafficking operation, intercepting a vehicle carrying 13 victims en route to Oyo State. Three suspects were apprehended during this operation.
The police announced that on January 31, 2025, at approximately 7 PM, their team arrested the suspects, identified as Samson Peter, 25, Haruna Duniya, 45, and Abdulazaq Olawole, 58. The police reported that the unmarked vehicle was transporting the victims, who have since been rescued. An investigation into the case is ongoing.
In an unrelated incident on January 29, the Ogun State Police Command successfully located a kidnappers’ hideout following a reported abduction on January 25. A gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralization of five gang members and the rescue of three kidnapped individuals.
During the confrontation, police recovered various arms and ammunition, three mobile phones, and a cash sum of N5.2 million. Additionally, the vehicles belonging to the kidnapped victims were also retrieved.
The Inspector-General of Police has praised the officers for their bravery and commitment to duty, urging all police personnel to stay vigilant in the fight against crime. He reassured the public of the police force’s unwavering dedication to maintaining safety and security in the community.
