Patti Smith has announced a series of tour dates to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her iconic debut album, Horses. Fans can expect Smith and her band to perform the album in its entirety at every concert. The tour kicks off on October 6 in Dublin and includes stops throughout Europe and the UK, before heading to the United States in November. Cities on the U.S. leg of the tour include Seattle, Oakland, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., culminating in a final performance in Philadelphia on November 29. A detailed itinerary is available below.
Smith will be joined on stage by her longtime guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, both of whom contributed to the original 1975 recording. The lineup will also include bassist and keyboardist Tony Shanahan, alongside guitarist Jackson Smith, Patti’s son. While Smith has performed the full tracklist of Horses at various events, notable performances took place in 2015 at New York’s Beacon Theatre and during the 2005 Meltdown Festival in London, which she curated.
