The Pakistan High Commission announced the issuance of 84 visas for Indian pilgrims to visit the revered Shree Katas Raj Temples, located in the Chakwal district of Punjab province. The visas will allow the group to explore the temples from December 19 to December 25.
The Katas Raj Temples, also referred to as Qila Katas, comprise a complex of interconnected Hindu temples linked by walkways. This pilgrimage aligns with a bilateral protocol that facilitates annual visits from both Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India to Pakistan, enabling spiritual engagement and connection.
The Pakistani mission expressed its best wishes to the pilgrims for a "spiritually rewarding" journey, underscoring the importance of such visits in fostering interfaith harmony. According to the Pakistan High Commission, thousands of pilgrims make these trips each year to partake in various religious celebrations, showcasing the enduring cultural and spiritual ties between the nations.
This initiative reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and providing access to religious sites for all communities.
