BJP Leaders Initiate Padayatra Against alleged Financial Irregularities
BJP figures Ramesh Jarkiholi and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal are set to lead a significant padayatra from Kudalasangama to Ballari, addressing alleged financial irregularities within the Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. They aim to highlight claims of the Congress government’s diversion of funds intended for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
“I have sought approval from our party leadership for the padayatra. They have indicated they will review my request and make a decision soon. Once approved, we will commence the padayatra,” Jarkiholi stated at a press conference in Gokak on Sunday.
Jarkiholi accused the Congress government, under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, of significant injustices towards the Bedar Nayaka community, particularly regarding unresolved discrepancies in the corporation’s operations. He emphasized the community’s considerable population, asserting it is on par with the Kuruba community in size and strength.
Additionally, Jarkiholi vowed to mobilize grassroots support against the alleged mismanagement by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. He claimed to possess substantial evidence against Shivakumar, promising to unveil it at a strategically chosen moment.
