Bandai Namco has made a significant update to the United Galaxy Space Force timeline for the first time since 2014, introducing Shadow Labyrinth, a new dark platformer spin-off featuring Pac-Man. This exciting addition expands the shared universe that includes other popular franchises such as Ace Combat, Dig Dug, and Galaga.
According to the updated timeline, Shadow Labyrinth is set in the year 3333, following the events of The New Space Order War, an unreleased RTS game that was canceled in 2009. In this timeline, players will encounter Puck, a PAC-type support android, and Swordsman No.8, as they delve into the mysteries of this intriguing universe.
Shadow Labyrinth continues the story from the Pac-Man level of an anthology series based on video games. The game was showcased in the March 2025 Nintendo Direct and is set to launch on July 18. It will be available on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Pac-Man franchise, Bandai Namco is releasing a special edition of the game, which will include exclusive collectibles such as an enamel pin set, a blacklight keychain, and a glow-in-the-dark sticker sheet.
