Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has emphasized the importance of enhanced collaboration between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state to bolster security efforts and eradicate criminal activities. This call to action took place on Tuesday during a meeting in Ado Ekiti with Brigadier-General Justin Ifeanyi, the new Brigade Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, who was on a courtesy visit.
Governor Oyebanji remarked that the existing cooperation among security chiefs has been pivotal in upholding Ekiti’s reputation as the most peaceful state in Nigeria. He urged the newly appointed Brigade Commander to build upon this cooperation, promoting effective intelligence sharing and joint operations among security forces.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to maintaining Ekiti’s status as the safest state in the nation, Oyebanji assured Brigadier-General Ifeanyi of the government’s full support to facilitate his success in the new role. He expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Nigerian Army in ensuring national security, acknowledging their prior familiarity with the state as beneficial.
Oyebanji noted, “While we have made significant progress, challenges remain with some criminal elements. However, the synergy among all security chiefs is a strength we must continue to harness.” He urged the new Commander to intensify cooperation between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.
In response, Brigadier-General Ifeanyi conveyed his commitment to intensifying efforts against criminal activity, assuring the governor of the Army’s dedication to maintaining peace throughout Ekiti State.
