ESPOO, Finland – Nokia has officially signed a multi-year agreement with AT&T to implement cutting-edge fiber access technology. This partnership will deploy Nokia’s Lightspan MF and Altiplano platforms to support one of the largest fiber networks worldwide. The agreement spans five years and includes significant upgrades to AT&T’s existing network as well as the introduction of next-generation fiber technologies, complying with Build America, Buy America regulations. This strategic collaboration marks a crucial milestone, laying the groundwork necessary for the next generation of broadband services.
With Nokia’s fiber technology, AT&T is set to build a future-ready network that can meet the increasing demand for capacity and enhanced broadband services. The Lightspan platform supports various next-generation PON technologies, including 10/25/50/100G, offering AT&T the flexibility to tailor its network according to its specific operational needs. Additionally, Nokia’s Altiplano Access Controller will enhance automation within AT&T’s network and service operations.
