In a surprising turn amid a broader market decline, the non-fungible token (NFT) sector is exhibiting strength, witnessing a sales volume increase of 4.5% to reach $102.8 million.
Bitcoin’s value has fallen below $83,000 over the past week, while Ethereum remains stable around the $1,800 mark. The total global cryptocurrency market capitalization is currently $2.71 trillion, a decrease from last week’s $2.77 trillion.
Data indicates that NFT sales volume last week was recorded at $100.9 million, marking a modest recovery for the sector this week.
The number of NFT buyers has surged by 28.9% to 451,436, while the count of NFT sellers has increased by 26.5% to 285,272. However, the overall NFT transactions have dipped by 2.8% to 1,614,680.
Ethereum Maintains Market Lead
The Ethereum blockchain continues to dominate with sales totaling $32 million, reflecting a substantial increase of 19.4% from the previous week.
Polygon follows in second place, achieving $18.1 million in sales with a robust 33.1% growth, subsequently pushing Solana down the ranks as its sales fell by 4.4% to $8.7 million.
Mythos Chain ranks third with $13.7 million in sales, despite experiencing a 12.8% decline compared to the prior week. Bitcoin ranks fourth with $10.1 million, suffering a significant 40.7% drop in NFT sales volume.
Ethereum continues to represent a major portion of wash trading, amounting to $2.6 million, though this has contracted by 9.9% from last week.
Regarding sales collections, Courtyard on Polygon leads the pack with $15.7 million in sales, reflecting a 33.1% increase. DMarket holds the second position with $8.5 million, marking an 18.3% downturn week-over-week.
CryptoPunks have experienced significant growth, with sales soaring by 141.4% to $6.3 million. This collection achieved the week’s highest individual NFT sale, with CryptoPunks #2967 fetching 420 ETH ($843,070).
Guild of Guardians Heroes claims the fourth spot with $5.5 million in sales, a slight decrease of 1.8%. Bitcoin’s BRC-20 NFTs complete the top five, recording $2.7 million in sales, representing a 19% drop from last week.
