The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has announced a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) aimed at enhancing national reputation management. This development was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the NIPR Rivers State Chapter delegation to the NDDC’s Managing Director in Port Harcourt.
During the meeting, the NDDC Executive Director of Corporate Services emphasized the critical importance of maintaining a positive national image. He noted that a well-managed reputation is essential for attracting international investments, while a negative perception could hinder potential opportunities.
The NIPR delegation, led by its Chairman, highlighted the upcoming NIPR 2024 Week, focusing on the theme “Rebuilding National Reputation through Business Integrity and Public Trust.” The Chairman underscored the necessity of NDDC’s involvement and sponsorship to ensure the event’s success, pointing out that the program’s relevance aligns with fostering a strong relationship between the Niger Delta region and the Federal Government.
The NIPR Chairman expressed optimism that the partnership would significantly aid in rebuilding the nation’s reputation. Both NDDC and NIPR representatives acknowledged the potential for collaboration to enhance trust and strengthen Nigeria’s global image. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing a commitment to formalizing their partnership.
