Golden Globe nominee Natasha Lyonne has shared exciting updates about the upcoming Marvel Studios film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While specific details regarding Lyonne’s character remain under wraps, fans are eager to learn more.
Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, this film will be part of the MCU’s Phase 6. The iconic superhero team is also expected to feature prominently in the upcoming Avengers films, including Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Natasha Lyonne Discusses Her Role in The Fantastic Four
In a recent interview, Lyonne expressed her excitement about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe but was tight-lipped regarding her mysterious character in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, she confirmed that she has completed filming her scenes for the movie.
“I’m old enough to know that the whole thing is a gift and rare opportunity, and I’m taking it in stride,” Lyonne shared. “I’ve already finished filming Fantastic Four, and I’m currently working on another project.”
The highly-anticipated film is directed by Matt Shakman, known for his acclaimed work on all nine episodes of the WandaVision miniseries. Shakman’s direction earned him two Emmy nominations, showcasing his talent within the Marvel franchise. The reboot features a star-studded cast, including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Additional cast members, including Julia Garner as a unique version of the Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson as Galactus, are set to enhance the film’s narrative, alongside John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, and Lyonne, with their roles yet to be disclosed. The team was first teased through a Valentine’s Day poster, hinting at the presence of the beloved robot H.E.R.B.I.E.
