The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj must make an initial deposit of N8,400,000.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Board’s Chief Information Officer emphasized that payments should be made via bank draft at any commercial bank and must be submitted at the Board’s area offices across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
The Board clarified that cash deposits and registration by proxy are not permitted. Pilgrims will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.
The official statement announced, “The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board wishes to inform the public, particularly those intending to perform the next year’s Hajj, that registration has commenced for the 2025 Hajj exercise.”
It continued, “Prospective pilgrims are required to deposit a minimum of Eight Million and Four Hundred Thousand Naira (8,400,000.00) via a bank draft in favor of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja, to complete their registration.”
Additionally, it was noted that the Board strictly adheres to the principles of first come, first served, underscoring the importance of timely registration.
In the 2024 Hajj, which took place from July 15 to August 15, a total of 2,491 pilgrims from the FCT were part of the 51,477 pilgrims nationwide.
