Belagavi hosted a poignant music concert on Sunday, honoring the second death anniversary of Nivedita Chandrashekar, a beloved local music teacher.
The highlight of the evening was Surashree Joshi, a devoted student of Veena Sahasrabuddhe, who captivated the audience with her classical Hindustani performance.
Her repertoire included a Khayal in Raag Puriya Dhanasree, a Raga Malika, and soul-stirring Nirgun Bhajans.
Joshi was skillfully accompanied by Saranga Kulkarni on the Samvadini and Rahula Mandolakar on the Tabla, enhancing the musical experience.
Additionally, senior student-artists from the Nivedarpana Music Academy showcased their talents with a vibrant karaoke performance, celebrating the legacy of their late mentor.
The event also featured a special recognition of Suresh Devaramani, an ex-serviceman and international athlete, honoring his accomplishments.
Attendees included family and friends of Ms. Nivedita, such as her parents and notable writers, who gathered to pay tribute to her lasting impact on the community.
