**Violent Incident in Sorocaba Leaves Man Injured: Ongoing Investigation**
A shocking incident occurred in Sorocaba, São Paulo, leaving a local event decorator, Edson Roberto Morales, seriously injured. Morales, 57, was attacked in a pharmacy parking lot after a minor collision involving his truck and a BMW. The altercation took place on Monday, October 10, around 5:50 PM in the Granja Olga I neighborhood.
Morales was at the pharmacy to purchase diabetes medication when he bumped into the other vehicle. After realizing the collision, he attempted to assess the situation, only to be met with aggression. “I thought we would have a conversation, but he approached me aggressively and punched me,” said Morales, who suffered significant injuries, including a fractured pelvis and shoulder damage.
The assailant, identified as Sandro Roberto de Oliveira, 50, fled the scene before authorities arrived. Security cameras captured the attack, showing Oliveira continuing to kick Morales even while he was on the ground. Morales’ fiancée intervened to stop the assault and was also struck in the leg during the confrontation.
As a result of the attack, Morales experienced severe swelling and vision issues, requiring medical leave for at least 30 days. “I have been prescribed numerous medications and am in a lot of pain. I have also been referred to an ophthalmologist for a potential eye injury,” he stated.
The couple had planned to marry in early March, but due to the injuries sustained from this violent encounter, their wedding has been postponed. “We were set to marry, but now, with the risk of further complications, we cannot proceed,” Morales explained.
Sorocaba’s 2nd Police District is actively investigating the case, with authorities confirming they are pursuing leads and conducting interviews to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Further details will be withheld to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
